The story of Decluttering Motherhood

Short Bio: Katy is the founder of Decluttering Motherhood and What Katy Said. She has been blogging since 2014 and has built up a community of wonderful women over the years. As well as being a successful parenting blogger, she has built up a business around helping mothers to declutter their homes – with a YouTube channel, Podcast and private Facebook group.

A little from Katy about how Decluttering Motherhood was started…

After building up my parenting blog, I realised that I loved to help people get organised. I moved away from writing about my family and our adventures together and focused my time and energy helping mums do the work that I had done.

Let’s turn the clock back….

When my third baby was born I became really overwhelmed with life and realised that I had lost myself somewhere along the way. I devoured self-help book after self-help book and looked for ways to help myself out of the lost feeling I found myself in.

I started decluttering my home, sharing the process and found a community of mothers along the way who appreciated my honesty about my journey. I didn’t pretend I lived in a show-home, I kept it real and took everyone along for the ride.

And now I want to help everyone else to do the same. To clear their homes, to free up their time, to reduce the anxiety and overwhelm and most importantly give them space to find themselves.

On a personal note…

I live just north of London with my husband and three children: Grace (10 years old), Lily (8 years old), and William (5 years old).

Aside from blogging and mum duties, I love to read (especially self-improvement books) and watch crap on Netflix. We also have a black Lab called Fred who keeps me busy!
